TODAY’S MINING SUPPORTS THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF TOMORROW

Presented for Educators by MEC: Minerals Education Coalition

"The amount of metals and minerals we rely on in our everyday life is staggering. If you really take a moment to think about it, look around to observe the objects you are surrounded by which are not manufactured by plant-based resources. From the cement you walk on to the screen you are reading, our world and our way of life depends on the products of modern mining practices.

But what does our future hold for us? Sustainable power, renewable energy, electric vehicles, advanced engineering, and commercial space travel will all rely on an increased source of the materials we already depend on (Mining for the Green Economy). The mining industry supports our everyday life but also provides the foundations of engineering achievements for the decades to come.

Join the conversation of #WhyMiningMatters and share your thoughts, questions and ideas of how mining will support the achievements of tomorrow."
