Subterrix, created by Ryan Marcus, is a research and intelligence platform built specifically for the metal detecting community—by detectorists, for detectorists.

The platform brings together more than 1.8 million historical site records, 77 million data points, historic maps, aerial imagery, property information, permission-research tools and more in one place. Instead of relying on guesswork, detectorists can thoroughly research, evaluate, and plan a hunt before ever swinging a coil.
At the center of the platform is iLiDAR, Subterrix’s advanced terrain-scanning technology. Unlike traditional flat contour maps, iLiDAR delivers an interactive 3D point-cloud experience at one-meter resolution. Users can zoom, rotate, and explore terrain in real time to identify old roadbeds, cellar holes, foundations, depressions, and other landscape features that may be difficult—or impossible—to see through conventional mapping tools.
