About CA Gold Diggers Meetup

Melanie Bailey is the founder of CA Gold Diggers Meetup, a California-based outdoor community dedicated to connecting people through adventure, education, and exploration. Passionate about bringing people together, Melanie has created a growing network for gold prospectors, rockhounds, metal detectorists, cave explorers, lapidary enthusiasts, and families who share a love for the outdoors.

With a vision of making California's natural treasures more accessible, she developed innovative resources including interactive treasure maps, adventure challenges, educational mission books, family activity guides, and the California Adventure Passport program. Her work focuses on helping beginners and experienced adventurers alike discover new locations, learn responsible outdoor recreation, and build lasting friendships within the outdoor community.

Beyond organizing statewide events and meetups, Melanie is committed to preserving mining history, supporting responsible public land access, and promoting outdoor education for future generations. Through partnerships with clubs, organizations, museums, and community leaders, she strives to create opportunities for people of all ages to experience California's rich mining heritage and natural beauty.

Melanie also produces educational content, promotional materials, community spotlights, and live events designed to inspire exploration while highlighting the individuals and organizations that make California's outdoor community unique. Heads up... a youth website is coming soon!

Her mission is simple:

To connect California's treasure hunters, inspire outdoor adventure, preserve our history, and help people create unforgettable memories exploring the Golden State—one adventure at a time.

Please reach out with any questions, and comments regarding services and membership. Alot of the content on this site is free information. There is a reasonable fee to access certain features to help pay organizing costs and provide information to maintain site.

Please share if I am missing a membership group for gold claims and metal detecting, along with their upcoming public events so I can keep calendar up to date. I want to keep everyone connected in one-spot.
