Christian Graham Treadwell — CGT Prospecting
Christian Graham Treadwell, known in the prospecting community as CGT Prospecting, is a Northern California gold prospector, outdoor adventurer, and television personality known for his hands-on approach to finding gold. He has become particularly associated with prospecting in the Trinity River region of Northern California and is recognized for his skill at working bedrock and searching the places where placer gold becomes trapped.
The “Rock Flipping Guru”
Christian has earned the nickname “the rock flipping guru,” a fitting description for a prospector who understands that some of the best gold can be hidden in places other people overlook.
Northern California publication North State Visitor Guide specifically highlighted Treadwell and CGT Prospecting when discussing gold prospecting opportunities in the region, identifying him as the “rock flipping guru” from the television series Frozen Gold.
Working around rocks, bedrock, cracks and natural traps requires patience and an understanding of how water moves heavy materials. Gold can settle behind large rocks, underneath obstructions and inside cracks where fast-moving water loses enough energy to drop heavier material.

Christian gained additional recognition through his involvement with The Weather Channel television series Frozen Gold.
His appearance connected him with a wider audience interested in gold mining, prospecting, exploration and the challenges that come with searching for gold in demanding environments.
That television exposure places Christian alongside other recognizable personalities from the modern prospecting community while his continued connection to Northern California keeps his adventures relevant to local prospectors.

Trinity River Gold Prospecting
Christian is particularly interesting to the CA Gold Diggers community because of his connection to the Trinity River, one of Northern California's legendary Gold Rush waterways.
The North State Visitor Guide reported that Christian takes people on rafting and gold-prospecting trips along the Trinity River, giving participants an opportunity to experience prospecting firsthand.
His prospecting interests make him a great personality to follow for people interested in:
Northern California gold prospecting
Trinity River gold
Gold panning and placer prospecting
Working bedrock and natural gold traps
Rock flipping and crevicing
Reading rivers and understanding where gold settles
Outdoor exploration and rafting
Hands-on prospecting instruction
Teaching Through Adventure
One of the best ways to learn prospecting is alongside someone who understands how to read a river.
Instead of simply telling people where gold might be, experienced prospectors can demonstrate why a particular rock, bedrock feature, gravel deposit or change in water flow deserves closer inspection.
Christian's combination of prospecting and outdoor adventure provides that type of learning experience. The same Northern California publication specifically recommends contacting him for Trinity River prospecting trips and notes the possibility of participants putting gold—or even a nugget—in their pans.
Why Follow Christian Graham Treadwell?
For the CA Gold Diggers community, Christian Graham Treadwell and CGT Prospecting are especially worth knowing because of Christian's direct connection to Northern California gold country, the Trinity River, hands-on prospecting, and Frozen Gold.
His “rock flipping guru” reputation also highlights an important lesson for every prospector: sometimes finding gold isn't about moving the most material—it's about understanding exactly where the gold is likely to hide.
Christian represents the adventurous side of modern California prospecting: reading the river, turning over rocks, exploring beautiful country, teaching others, and always wondering whether the next crevice might be holding a piece of gold.
