We prioritize protecting member data and restricting content to authorized users. Key settings include activating SSL encryption, restricting content access to registered members, and utilizing private/hidden group visibility to protect member directories access to certain information from public view. 

 

Here are the privacy settings for our membership groups:

• Group Visibility & Privacy:

  • Private Member-only Page: The group is visible in directories, but only members can view content. Basic info is shared: picture, name, company and position, and hobby interest. Last name, Birthday, address, email, and phone number is not displayed. Organizer can only see details.

  • Hidden/Secret: The group is invisible to non-members 

• Access Control & Roles:

  • Owner (Melanie) has access as organizer and holder of data

  • Gate Content: Use plugins or built-in CMS tools to restrict access to specific pages or posts behind a login.

• Data Protection & Security:

  • SSL Certificate: Mandatory for encrypting data, especially if handling payments or sensitive personal information.

  • Content Restrictions: Ensure non-members are redirected away from private areas. Monitoring youth access through blocking access.

  • GDPR Compliance: 

    • Personal information is stored on the organizer's spreadsheets through Google Account (spreadsheet), Wix (systems data to inform you of payment and subscription accounts, access to certain files, and live chat), and Constant Contact (email blasts for events). ​

      • Address, email, phone number to contact you for membership, personal story to add to newsletter, advertising products, and service questions

      • Data is not shared with other membership groups! NOR share with third party data collectors for personal benefit except for affiliated marketing when you purchase items that state "affiliated pic." Items in posts under "knowledge" Page have affiliated links attached to the section labeled "Products" page. This site is a Wix Website Platform that could have embedded data collection through apps used on site beyond knowledge of owner of this site.

Who is an affiliate under California law?

Tit. 10, § 10.107 - Affiliate. "Affiliate," when used with respect to a specified person, means any person controlling, controlled by, or under common control with, such specified person, directly or indirectly through one or more intermediaries.

CA Gold Digger Meetup obtains a percentage of sale when a new customer purchases a product or service through CA Gold Digger Meetup. The Commission is reported on yearly taxes as income.
